Three Pillars of Steadfast

1. God's Word

We stand on the pillar of God's Word thanking Him that He has given us the written Word so that we might know Him. As we learn to claim the truths and stand on the promises of God's Word our lives are changed to be more like Christ. Our desire is that God's Word would become the final authority in peoples' lives. Thus, we preach God's Word authoritatively and unapologetically. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:1-2; Hebrews 4:12). Paul said in Romans 10:7, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." Our desire is to see every individual at Steadfast be transformed and equipped daily by the Word of God as they get to know Him by investing time in reading, studying, memorizing, meditating, and applying His Word.

2. Prayer
We stand on the pillar of prayer knowing that God desires to hear from and answer His children. As we practice prayer both privately and corporately we believe we will experience God's power in answered prayer. (Acts 6:4; Ephesians 6:18). Jesus said in Matt. 21:13, "My house shall be called a house of prayer." Our desire is to see every person at Steadfast being transformed by Christ as they live a life of prayer; learning how to pray, desiring to call on the name of the Lord, understanding the importance of prayer, realizing the power of prayer, and rejoicing in the privilege of prayer. As we see God answer prayer, we will continually offer up praises to God for what He accomplishes.

3. Love

We stand on the pillar of love knowing that Jesus commands us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. As we grow in our love for the Lord we will love our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and have a deep desire to reach out to those that do not know Jesus as their Savior. (Mark 12:30; John 13:34-35; Luke 19:10). Paul's prayer recorded in Eph 3:19 say, "...And to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." Our desire is to see every person at Steadfast be filled up to all the fullness of God as they grow in their love for Him by knowing Him through His Word and prayer. Our love for Christ compels us to worship Him at all times, giving Him praise and thanksgiving individually and corporately. We also worship Him by giving generously of our time, treasures, and talents for His glory and  His purposes. In knowing the love of Christ we are also compelled to love others. Our love for one another in the body is demonstrated through serving one another in a way that every individual is being made complete in Christ through encouragement, edification, and exhortation. We also grow as a body as we serve together in community to bring glory to God. As a unified body and as individuals our desire is that God would cultivate in us a love for the least, lost, and the last. Jesus was known as a friend of sinners and we desire that every individual at Steadfast would live knowing that they are the front door of the church and would intentionally pursue relationships with unbelievers for the purpose of sharing the Hope that's within them. Not only does Christ's love compel us to love those we see on a daily basis, but His love compels us to have a heart for the world. And as a local body of believers we understand that we are a part of the Universal Church and have been called to be a part of the Great Commission around the world by praying for, giving, serving, and preparing workers to go into His harvest.
